Nick's POV (A week later)
I woke up alone in the room my brothers and I shared, I must have slept in, oh well. I climbed out of bed and started to get dressed when my phone rang, "Very superstitious, writing on the wall, very superstitious ladders bout to fall, thirteen month old baby, broke the looking glass, 7 years of bad luck, good things in your past." "Hello?" I asked answering the phone while I slipped on a pair of jeans. "Hello, is this Nick Jonas?" someone asked. "Yes it is, how can I help you?" I asked suspiciously. "This is Police Chief Williams of the Slave Lake Police Department, remember I talked to you and your girlfriend last week about her kidnapping." the man on the other line said. "I remember." I said. "Well I hate to inform you that the men that were in custody for the kidnapping escape yesterday afternoon." he said and I almost dropped the phone. "WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG FOR US TO FIND OUT?" I asked in a yell. "We tried to locate them again before we worried you and your girlfriend for no reason." the police chief said in a calm tone. "Are Megan and Lizzy with you right now?" he added. "I think there downstairs with my brothers." I said, I really didnt know. "Well, I'd stay with them if I were you." he said. "And if I were you I'd go find the people who did this to them!" I added in an angry tone before I hung up and ran downstairs. "Have you guys seen Megs anywhere?" I asked when I spotted my brothers in the living room. "Nope." Joe said. "Didn't she leave?" Kevin asked turning to face Joe. "Like 4 hours ago." Joe said with a shrug. "Where'd she go?" I asked. "To the store with Liz." Kevin said. "They aren't supposed to go alone!" I said and they bother turned to face me. "Why not?" Joe asked. "Because Ben and Nate escaped from jail and are after them both!" I said and Kevin's eyes widened. "WHAT?" he asked. "We have to go find them now!" I said and my brothers got up off the couch and we ran out the front door to Kevin's rental car.
Liz's POV
"Who knew there would be so many teenage girls at a Superstore on a Saturday." I said as Megs and I brought in the last of the groceries we bought. "I know right? I mean we grew here, we had WAY better things to do than shop at Superstore." Megs said with a laugh. "Want to go for a swim?" she asked as we put away the groceries that need to be in the 'fridge and freezer. "No, I'm tired, I think I'm going to take a nap, but I might join you later if you're still out there." I said grabbing a few of the cans and walking over to the pantry. "Why don't you take off now, I'll put these away you go for a swim." I said over my shoulder to Megs. "You sure, I could stay and help." she said unsure. "I'm positive, go." I said smiling at her. Megs used so swim all the time, she was really good. She was on the Spartan Swim team and everything. That's why I got her a job at my families pool. She hardly ever swims now, so when she wants to go swim, Breanna and I like to encourage her to do it. Especially after what happened last week. She just got her stitches out last night and she was allowed to take the bandages off her arms 3 days ago. "Alright, I'm gonna get changed and I'll be in the lake if you need me." she said before she ran off and I went back to putting away the groceries.
Megan's POV
I quickly changed into my old work bikini, the one I wore under my uniform and would never wear around anyone else, it showed the scares on my stomach but for some reason I decided to wear it. I left a I swam over to the little island that Liz and I used to call our special island. Wed always spend our days here, just Liz, Taylor and Me. I climbed up the latter on the dock and sat on the edge, letting the mid-May sun rays warm my skin after a swim in the cold lake. I closed my eyes and leaned back on my palms. Now this was home, Chilliwack, the lake. Sure L.A. was nice, and Slave Lake will always be a special place to me but nothing will ever top the feeling of coming home. I heard the sounds of tired on the driveway coming from my house and decided to go back and see if Nick and them were finally home.
