This is my second cut of my final Sight & Sound Film from my Fall 2008 class. I don't have the title for it yet, and it is without the final music or additional sound effects. Any feedback will be welcomed.

  • your one actor looks like Stanley Kubrick

  • It's funny you mention him. I just finished watching Eyes Wide Shut.

  • how u gonna try to have a movie look old and shit but have all modern appliances and cell phones in it?

  • By using a camera.

  • I mean since u go to NYU u obviously could have spent some money on an old rotary phone off of ebay or somethin but then that would ruin the whole part of her listening to the answering machine U should have instead made the guy write a letter and have it like the broad was reading it and smiling then u could have filmed the guy hand writing the letter while pouring and drinking the booze.. so yeah letters instead of phone calls and better props if ur serious about this no modern stuff

  • 1. Don't call women broads when you post on my wall.

    2. I chose a direction for my film and stuck with it. It is not perfect, but I cannot tailor my plot to every opinion.

  • Oh I understand plenty.

This film was shot in film. 16mm. B&W. There is no 'old movie effect;' its called reversal film. I did not shoot digital, I specifically shot in black and white. Why do you say early 1900s - just because it is in black and white?

You also contradicted yourself: "The bad old sounding music is also good." It is Chet Baker - an amazing musician.

Can you elaborate how the story and props fail? I'm curious to hear your opinion.
