Former Vice President Al Gore, foreign ministers and climate change scientists met on 28 April in the town of Tromsø in Northern Norway to discuss the impacts of melting ice in Antarctica, the Arctic and mountain areas worldwide. The matter of fact is, there is no unusual icemelting of the worlds glaciers, the arctic nor the antarctica.
For instance the Greenland sea ice extent has expanded for the last decade, also the ice between canada sw greenland was at it's highest for 15 years in 2008.
In parts of west Anarctica there is a melting, but east Anarctica which is 4 times bigger than west, has expanded the past decade, and was at it's densest for the past 10 years in 2008 year.
