The eleventh video of a Golden Sun: The Lost Age no experience playthrough. We fight Star Magician.

This game is played normally with the exception that enemies do not give experience by way of a cheating device. Thus our characters are at the lowest level possible; which is as follows:

Felix - 5
Jenna - 5
Sheba - 5
Piers - 18
Isaac - 1
Garet - 1
Ivan - 4
Mia - 10

I'm ready to try to finish this game. For this fight, what's irritating is the Guardian Ball, and otherwise this fight isn't so bad.

Video does desync slightly, because I'm not recording with the VBA rerecording emulator. But it's a short battle, and the desync is only slightly off.

I've given everyone new equipment, many of which are rare drops from enemies, which are usually obtained using an RNG method. I know it's possible to create your own RNG method, but I don't know much about it myself, so I've taken the assumption that it is actually possible for a low level team to RNG their way to getting these equipments, so, instead of using an RNG method to get these equipment, I sharked them to our inventory. If it turns out that it isn't possible to get them, then, you know, my bad. But I don't think that's the case, or that even so, it doesn't matter.

Anyway,

Enjoy.

  • You beat him better and faster than I can with a level 50 party with Sol Blade, Darksword with clerics ring, 6 tisiphone edges and all djinni. ...Wtf. By the way, your videos are way too underappreciated and viewed for the amount of effort you must put into them.

  • Thank you. I appreciate that comment, because it is kind of discouraging that my views and subs don't compare to many other video game channels.

  • did you get charon by getting all the djinni then going to the anemos inner sanctum and just get the summon?

  • yeah. Then after this fight, we fought in order sentinel, valukar, and dullahan, getting the summons that correspond to them in that order.

  • @Shockwave109 not really has long as your not a total noob to the game and haven't been relying solely on summon rushing, you simpy have to use buff djinn and or psynergies. about the ball its a random process so you keep destroying anything other than thunder ball and you win. that simple. I don't know about you but i always use a healer to heal each 2/3 turn. i use a normal party either broken seal full team or lost age only, without the need to switch from one to another...

  • @Atstyle Easier said then done. You have to have at least one healer constantly revitalizing your party if you intend to let Thunder Balls use Spark Plasma every turn. And if you run out of Psynergy on your healer or s/he dies, you're cooked. Summons under that strategy also wouldn't work, since Star Magician summons any ball he wants. Of course, if he chooses not to summon a Thunder Ball, you have to kill that one too. So many ways Star Magician can screw up your strategy, it's not even funny.

  • @Shockwave109 this boss is extremely easy you get rid of the annoying balls(guard bal and refresh ball) and let the balls be all thunder one, then you pump up your party with buff psynergies and start to weapon unleash star magician only, not caring about the balls. simple

  • man on dark dawn, dark magician sucks but on lost age hes quite chalenging :)

  • Ok dude , you killed that guy in 3 minutes with a very underlevel party and most people spend like 10 or 7 minutes with an overpowered party ....

You are a crazy pro ...

  • You sir, are awesome. -watched most of your vids-

  • Yeah, you're able to RNG abuse the items in just fine. It just takes a different strategy to pull off than what's provided in RNG FAQs. So you're good.

  • The most annoying boss... EVER!!!! If it was just star magician, it would be SO easy, but he has to have guard balls that kill your summons, refresh balls to heal him an insane amount, anger balls to...suicide on you, and thunder balls to generally ruin your party. Definitely an insane battle.

I fought and beat Dullahan before I could kill this guy.

  • Looks like you nearly had more trouble taking out that last Guardian Ball than you did the Star Magician.

Great video, though. I'm very impressed.

  • "Guardian Ball is defending?" One of the things that makes this boss so annoying is Guard Aura.
