@stopthemachine Hey it is a Leich desk/wall phone that clould either be hung on the wall or placed on a desk. I have a couple of them and they are pretty neat.
-
What kind of phone is that at :19 ? I doesn't look like an American phone.

I Believe This Was "Texas" Video Open From August 4, 1980, Right?

@GETOSUPASTAR Also, both time slots it had hurt it. When Texas debuted, it aired against GH (which was in ratings heaven back then), later on, NBC moved it to mornings (against The Price is Right) which got it away from GH but nothing could match TPIR in it's timeslot (except The View much later on). Plus several affiliates (including mine) didn't carry the whole series, which kept even more viewers away. Hard to believe it's been *30 years* since the debut of Texas.

This was way before I was born but a state of Texas being a soap opera what was that about?

Thats interesting...i really wish i had gotten to see it. Looks like it would have been my kinda show. 80's Camp and over the topness! :) So how did it end? Did any of the characters cross back over to "AW"? And Pam Long, that name sounds familiar, didn't she go on to write at "DAYS" or "GL"?

It was a bit of both. Beverlee McKinsey had a huge fan base and a lot of those viewers checked out when she did. The writing was weak when the show first started out, which was a shame as the acting, for the most part, was top knotch. With numerous writing changes, characters came and went. Strangely enough, the show gelled after Beverlee McKinsey left and when Pamela Long (she played Ashley Marshall) took over as head writer.
Thanks for that. I hope they will find a new home eventually, all those classic soaps yanked :(

On January 1, 2009, Procter & Gamble (a.k.a. Telenext Productions) announced that it was discontinuing the webcasts of Texas on AOL Video. Two fans are keeping Texas clips alive on You Tube. Check out the postings of hfxmusicman and cfs89. Procter & Gamble has indicated it is searching for a new home to continue presenting these precious holdings.
