Also, a small dog can still break down meat. It's small size does not mean it does not contain in its skull all the teeth that the larger breeds do. They contain incisors to rend flesh. Bones are very important to all dogs, as it strengthens gums and removes plaque build-up from the soft tissues consumed. If you don't give them bones I hope that you at least give them treats or toys that aid in their dental health. Otherwise their overall health is endangered with the importance placed on teeth.

I love how you just contradicted yourself, "Dogs don't normally in their own world go out and cook food they eat raw food so they're not getting a full spectrum of vitamins that's why we put vitamins on." Cooking meat actually denatures proteins rendering them mostly un-absorable and so it passes through our systems with much wasted nutrients. So in actuality, dogs are getting more nutrients than us out of protein because they eat it raw and we prefer not to. Sadly, we need the supplements.

@UltimateHealthForDog -True, i have a 5lb pomchi that ive gradually got used to bigger pieces of meat and bone. i try to give him something like a pork neck cute into chunks the size of his own head. He loves it. I started with small chunks at first. Now he's a pro :) I have seen an improvement in his teeth. They are considerably whiter. Thats's what ive heard and that is what (comparatively) noticed on my own pup.

Don't give your dog kiblle it will just make it unhealthy plus give them raw chicken breasts not stuff like that
Base it on weight. Our dog is about 12-13 pounds.

Usually unground meat helps your dog clean its teeth. Just giving them a whole chunk gives them the oportunity to chomp away tarter that kibble creates.

@maharley27 This may be fine for large dogs, but not small dogs. If small dogs don't have small pieces they often choke on the too large pieces because they don't chew the complete piece before swallowing. As for keeping teeth clean, each dog really is different. Some dogs saliva is successful in breaking down tartar causing agents, other dogs saliva does not do the job. Brushing teeth is an option, or easier yet, good quality kibbles that, when being chewed, scrape teeth surfaces.

Well, the meat is from locally raised, organically certified cattle down the road who's family has been doing it for 5 generations. And a kibble or two (actually a teaspoon) adds carbohydrates that the dog's body likes to use as it assimilates all the other nutrients and increases the bio-availiability of these nutrients at the cellular level.
Also, would not give just chicken breasts as there is simply not enough fat content. A dog's body needs the fat to interact with the vitamins.
