Hey! This is short improvisation slash, song idea that i have at the moment, its really rough, but sound kinda catchy. this is done on the microkorg, having one of the riffs recorded through the audio out on the microkorg to my computer using audacity - all i've done is looped the riff, and added some drums using lmms - then i just played along with my microkorg making many mistakes :D still, its just in the sort of raw ideas stage at the moment.

The patch/program that i am using, is one that i have created, but unfortunately deleted along with all my other patches, so i'm only left with the presets... not good, but i'll make them - most of them anyway.

Anyway, the tunes in 8 bit style, kind of You love her coz she's dead, or crystal castles etc - let me know if you like it,

  • Nice dude!!! Hey I'm new to the microkorg could you tell me how to do 8-bit on it or any nintendocore sounds please!!! Thanks

  • Hey! sos for the really late reply! Ummm, the microkorg has an amazing amazing arpeggiator, so just mess around with that on simple waveforms like pusle and saw, and you'll probably find you've created some 8 bit sounding patches :D

  • how did you get this sound, i'm pretty new to programing my microkorg, so do you mind telling me the settings :) great vid btw :D

  • Hey. I haven't actually got the settings, i lost them because i deleted the patch, but if you read some of the other comments you'll find out a vauge idea of how i made the patch ... its basically just messing around with the arpeggiator. hope this helps ..

  • @c2z23 Sounds great - and yeah, to be honest i just wanted to see if i could make similar sounds in these vids - but making something original is important to me. Darkness and beauty is really good description of their sound :)

  • @novadavies No need to copy them but be inspired...it's not just the synth sounds, it's the layering of darkness & beauty poking through the cracks that makes Crystal Castles amazing. Sweet patch though, will look into yr tips...I had a Casio MT-70 or smthn with a sound called 'Crystal Bells' that sounded very CC. The synth sold for a mint on Ebay so I was later trying to recreate the sounds, found something like 'same note with delay and +& - octave before & after' worked for me on Korg DS-10.

  • PLEASE GIVE ME THIS PATCH.

  • square wave with a lil noise thats all!

  • settings please

  • Hey dude that was awesome, maybe on your free time you can turn it into a full track :D

  • you should look into getting an atari 2600 and a synthcart cartage if you want some cc sounding stuff.

  • Is that 8bit sound a default patch on the microKORG? I don't have the time to check at the moment, and if it isn't, can you remember how to get a similiar sound?
