Judging books by their covers...........

Why do people assume that if I believe in God, I must be a fundamentalist moron who was raised in an intellectual vacuum in the Bible Belt?

  • OK so your mind isn't empty. The interesting thing is if you run across a bucket that is empty you can fill it with anything you like. Shit for example.

  • @jd52wtf

Well, we both agree that my mind isn't empty...... but I'm a little concerned that you think finding empty buckets and filling them with shit is "interesting."

  • @Capn0bvious Somebody missed the point of my comment. Or rather understood it perfectly but like a good little christian decided to completely ignore it and make up his own.

  • @jd52wtf

Of course I ignored it and made up my own.... yours was poorly phrased and not worth taking seriously.

  • Ignorant men created religion and so far the only testament to its teachings are its ability to devide and create enough sadly justified anger to kill each other. Religion is nothing more than a disease spread from one ignorant man to an unknowing child. Eventually all religious books will be piled up in a museum and the caption will read. from this date to this date people believed this. It's then that the distant future will know how igrorant we currently are. Scooter

  • @SHADOW10621

Lol... I always enjoy being called ignorant by someone with 6th grade level spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Get some sleep, Scooter. It's a school night... and the short bus comes early.

  • BTW - the difference between ALL those INTELLIGENT books and the last one you held up is that EVERY ONE OF THE FIRST BOOKS have been tried and tested and found true. They've been able to replicate the SCIENCE in them and when something is found in error - scientific theories adapt and change to account for the new knowledge. The Bible, on the other hand, only changes when a powerful ruler wants to get divorced and then they merely re-write the parts they don't like OUT.

  • 2+2≠5. It doesn't now, it didn't way back when and tomorrow it won't either. No amount of praying or reading a book of lies will ever change the fact that 2+2≠5.

No, I do NOT have to have an open mind about this. I do NOT have to respect your belief or opinion if you DO believe that 2+2=5. If you do, then I do NOT respect you. You're insane. I pity you. I feel sorry for you. I think you need to be segregated away from normal people (especially children). You are dangerous to rational thought.

  • OP is a redneck dunce for this "showing books with country music"

  • I bet he read the bible before ... then he skimmed through those books with extteme prejudice ... peace? Religion is anything but... hope you find it you sick redneck fuck!

  • I too have read all of those books and then some. It was the last one however that convinced me that theism is a ridiculous pursuit intelligently designed by immoral men to manipulate the gullible.

  • @therealfriday13th wait, scratch the audioswap thing...my speakers were loose...

  • We call you ignorant because the exemplars (for lack of a better term) such as Ham, Hovind, etc., that are held up as the gold standard for Christians to follow, ARE ignorant, and wouldn't be caught dead actually READING those books for actual ideas instead of looking for a quote to mine.

Also, ya might want to do an audioswap on this one...

  • Believe it or not, many atheists have read the bible, some have read it from cover to cover. I know MANY christians that can't say the same.

I don't think all christians are ignorant. Some are, (but then the same can be said of some atheists to be fair).

  • @atheistram I wouldnt go so far as to call him an outright liar, thats just I dont believe u cos i dont believe u sorta thinking (You know what we are trying to move away from).

If he owns those books, which looks like he does, if he says hes read them then i believe him.....i have no real reason not to.

Although i would like to hear him speak about this stuff, not as a test but more to my question in my original comment...How do u read sagan and retain a jebus belief? its beyond me

  • @shandcunt I don't think he has read Sagan. Prob just picked those books up from his local library in an attempt to look smart.

  • @Capn0bvious Wow, you musta had NO comeback to SHADOW10621's comment, seeing as you felt the need to resort to ad hominem's.

  • @Capn0bvious As you can see, when you comprehend and you "know" you denounce everyone else who doesn't "Know" so it's an infinite loop of SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOUR WRONG. There isn't any reward because we won't even get there to comprehend, because the possibility we are just animals with a better brain is very likely, and our time will end while the universe will just keep going and going because there has to be something that is infinite, and infinite is incomprehensible. AND YOU KNOW THAT.
