Pastel portrait from sitting by Gerard Mineo

A portrait done in daytime under an umbrella which means a diffuse light, almost no shadows. Such a portrait has to be done in a minimum of time since kids are quickly fade up. This one was completed in 30mns.

Most of the pastel I use are home made. I also use Rembrandt for details

hello i would like to ask your using a soft pastel for this? and i would like to ask if the finishing black color you used is a pastel black for the hair or the charcoal pencil?

Yes soft pastel and some hard pastel for details. The finishing black is the one from Rembrandt.

I can not believe all the negative comments, I think the little girl is adorable and you did a wonderful expert job in rendering her. It is very hard to keep a child focused and still, I love the pastel painting.
