@420chris4208 Kalnoky (and other members) used to be in Catch 22. He wrote the entire Keasbey Nights album (which was released during they're last year of/year after highschool), then left to go to college. After college he started Streetlight Manifesto. After SM's first album, Victory Records proposed rereleasing Keasbey Nights (it's a very highly regarded album among the ska community), and Tomas said he didn't want people paying 15 dollars for the same album, so he just rerecorded it with SM.
