Mike and Matt from SFTtackle.com show how the Skinny Bear jig can save the day when the fishing is tough. Matt had the idea to use a corn dog smallie beaver as a trailer. Some good Summer smallmouth fishing on the Susquehanna River.

  • how do you use that? and how would you recommend using it from the shore from a river?

  • This bait should work from the shore too. It is best if you are somewhere where there are ledges as jigs work best on the river by dropping them behind ledges. The shore is always limiting on the river, but a good place is the accomac shoreline in the early spring and fall. Cast up river at a 45 degree angle and let it drift back along the bottom. Trick is to get it down but not too much weight you get stuck too much. It is easy to get stuck a lot shore fishing.
