WEBSITE: http://www.synergy-athletics.com MANUAL: http://www.bullstrength.com

The glutes and hamstrings of an athlete are often underdeveloped. Here is an exercise to help get your athletes fast and strong without running every single day. Give the squat thrust rdl's a shot!

Speed and acceleration improvement does not happen by accident! Make sure you include these in a proper strength and exercise program.

  • hey i did this and my face starting turning purple? what did i do wrong?

  • @oogp sounds like a breathing issue. When are you taking breathes during the lift?

  • Good exercise. I can see this being good for a warmup as well.

  • @AmusingYeti thanks, and you are 100% right!

  • @jhashey I thought it was that. idk why but i never think about breathing when i work out. I had a training buddy and we were doing military press' and he said with a loud voice when he aw me doing it "breath!" idk i just try to stay calm when i work out but when do u say i should breath. . . as i come up or when i go down. :)

  • I am a sophmore d-linemen (d-end to be specific) at Heber Springs Arkansas. We have a big game in 9 days in Razorback stadium against Shiloh Christian.Probably the biggest concern I have,is my speed. How often throughout the week should I do this at home, and if done properly and consistantly;how much will it increase my speed?

  • its like a dynamic stretch with a plyometric twist, i agree it looks like a great warm up...

  • @andyman820...lots of static hamstring stretches. it should not be painful but it should be slightly uncomfortable maybe throw in some dynamic stretches to mix it up before hand. holding the static stretches for a couple minutes each or longer should get some results.

  • good stuff, i imagine the idea is to keep the legs as straight as possible throughout?

also a question, I have extremely inflexible (or just short) hamstrings. is there anything i can do to be able to one day touch my toes?

  • Your big, did you play football? or do you?
