SIgh, back when channel 4 was still decent. I wouldn't give a plug nickel for their news broadcast now, it's just horrible. WBZ-TV 4 used to win News Station of the Year regularly, that would never happen with the setup they have today.
I love the shot of the old WBZ Group W Sign at 0:30 and Bob Lobel's Orangered Blazer. It weird how it shows Jack and Liz running around as reporters.. even though they were anchors mostly.
Wow...I remember these when I was a kid. My dad's parents watched 4. My maternal grandmother still watches 5. My parents avoided the news at all costs until I convinced them it wasn't a good idea. I usually watch 7 because most of the shows I watch are on NBC, but I think 4's news is still a lot better in many respects. Starting with the stable crew...almost all those people are still there. Thanks for sharing this and bringing back memories of a much happier time in my life.
Edd Kalehoff (creator of these promos)is one of those in the industry who has such an incredible knack for capturing the spirit of a tation and creating viewer excitement about it. Great image campaigns and themes. These for WBZ-TV 4 Boston and for many staions for years. Great material to see again. Enjoying the ride: JimMastersTV
