Vento Zip R3i w/75cc BBK - wierd chattering/clanking sound

Listen at around 0:36 is where you can start to hear it the most. I had this noise last fall and thought it was a crank bearing so i decided to do a complete rebuild. Dissassembled the entire motor and had the crankshaft runout checked by a local machine shop to be within .001" and new bearings and seals installed. Did a complete new top end with a 75cc BBK. Still making the same sound. I took apart the variator and greased everything that needs greased. The sound appears to be coming from the CVT. This is driving me nuts! it runs absolutely perfect and pulls hard, it just makes this terrible sound which is 10X louder in person.

if you dont know what is wrong, start by replacing things or swaping them, if u got a stock backup part.. if a machine shop did your top end, the problem is more then likely the shitty QJ gears in the rear case

did you look for a broken tooth in your gearbox? sounds like metal floating around and popping up in the gears or rubbing them
