@M4A108 O man, T72 dont have HE rounds but have HEF (very similar) the most common ammo is APFSDS, HEAT and HEF. This smoke is also from smoke dischargers whitch are fired when you must cover behind something. I think that he tried to find first smoke discharger whitch became UXO.
