I'm currently a 14 HDCP trying to cut that in half over the next twenty months. I'll be doing that by using video, drills, training aids, golf fitness, and instructional resources, and plan to record my progress. Here I'm practicing in Dec. 2008 using a training aid called the Speed Stik. It retails for about $100, and it gives you feedback on your swing speed as well as being a nice alternative to a weighted club. By practicing with the Speed Stick, I can focus on trying to make a good hard swing without worrying about a clubface or a shaft, I'm just trying to swing on plane and generate maximum power. The Speed Stik is heavier than a golf club and it gets moving faster too. I've swung it up to 118 mph and I can only carry my driver maybe 220 on a perfect swing, so I figure my Driver clubhead speed is about 100mph.

  • learn how to chip and putt better and you'll be a single digit handi in no time

  • @briandwright007 Thanks, I still struggle with the long game too though. Will be working all winter in the backyard with a number of different training aids that I'll review on this channel.

  • This is a practice swing with the Speed Stik. I enjoy it because it's heavy, has a thick grip, and doesn't look like a golf club so you can just focus on making a turn and generating speed with it. It should be swung from both sides (lefty and righty).

Be careful not to overswing with it, I've heard of some people tweaking their back that way.

  • Looks like a good product for building clubhead speed.

  • Good luck with your project and CozmoSports is behind you!

  • How do you like the Speed Stik? I'm not sure whether I should get a weighted club to practice with or the Speed Stik. Is it worth the $80?
