Damn. That's insane! This track will humble you if you're not careful. No wonder the ALMS has this track as part of its circuit.

80 mph? That seems a little excessively cautious to me at least, but I guess they get a lot of really inexperienced people.

Jeezus, I'm having a coronary just thinking about Road America's 120mph corners and a Boss 429 Mustang.

Hah, even pro racing drivers say it's scary to drive.
Probably, similar setup I think, fairly light body with a very powerful, torquey engine with a very soft suspension and drum brakes, haha.
-
LOL! I'm gonna need some serious instructions if I'm gonna drive that animal.
I've heard that the Boss 429 Mustang was almost as difficult to drive on the track.

Yeah, and 60s suspension and 60s brakes. Haha. Considered one of the most difficult cars to drive ever. I think some had 600+ hp (standard was a little over 400 hp) and weighed 2200 pounds. Brutal, amazing that people could drive could drive them well back then.
Haha yeah man. Probably would have slow down to 100 or less for the kink.
BTW if you think that's brutal, try the Porsche 917-30 in the Can Am series back in the 70s. Had 1500 hp for qualifying, it would spin the wheels all the way to 4th gear if the driver wasn't any good.

BMW club required a mandatory 80 mph (radar monitored) slow down prior to the kink. Ignore it twice and they throw you out! Instructors were doing the kink (no Limits) at 110 mph.

Hoo-rah!

Best time for the week-end was a 2:35.6. Imagine hitting 140+ three times per lap! Highest mph seen was 151 (gps speedo, real mph) at the end of the front stretch. Cracked one front brake rotor! High mph = heavy braking..thanks, ZO6 driver.
