To Wolframkoegler, This line would be a huge asset to tourism in the area, bringing in both visitor's and jobs. For a modest outlay the the returns are good. The Welsh narrow gauge railways have good passenger numbers and run at a profit. Tourism benefits hugely in the area from these lines. The W,H,R is just reopening a 20+mile long line, with Government and EU help. The Vivarais Railway
must make a case for funding from the EU Local
and National Government the press and the Tourist Office.

Thanks, Walter. Have a look into google or similar search engines. "Le Mastrou" will pop up informations. And other youtubers are showing pretty well done videos about.

Making a case for the line will not be easy but as a feature in a tourist area will be a great asset. Steam lines attract a lot of visitors from many countries so this line in a beautiful part of France has a lot going for it. I hope that the authorities see the value of keeping this line open and investing in it.

thansk, Taffy, for your comments. I read in the French paper. Hope they will succeed in reestablishing the service in 2010. Let's keep all our fingers crossed. Good luck.
