Well ... all people from the whole world say Liston ain't no champ.. but he had a heart . Nobody liked him ... he had 3-4 friends .. and no more .. People didn't respect him because he was Black!? Rotfl.. fucking people

I'm glad you and others point out what you did.I liked Sonny Liston a lot.He was a good guy and a very,very clean fighter if you watch his films.Thanks to who found this,too.There's not enough out there about him.His story is a great movie waiting to happen.
I hope ,somehow, he knows a lot of people really did like him.

@TheTartanSoldier what mule thing?
-
@dspreis I also recommend Richard Hoffer's 'A Savage Business - The comeback of Comedown of Mike Tyson' ! Another sad story.

@dspreis I've read 'King of the World' by the brilliant Remnick. This book is outstanding, telling different stories about Liston, Patterson and Ali. The Liston story is extremely sad. One need to read it over more than once. The president of USA telling Patterson to win over the bad negro ... The 8 year old Liston taken out of school and forced by his brutal father to work 16 hours a day out on the sweltering cotton fields of the old south ... Just extremely sad.

trust me its not, just like there are naturally skinny people there are naturally muscular people in the world, havent you ever seen a huge burly guy whos naturally that way?
-
Liston...what a tragic figure. Very sad story. The guy was really demonized and misunderstood. Used by the mob and then discarded. Have you ever read the book by Remnick, King Of the World? It's about Ali, Liston and Patterson. Best book on boxing I've ever read...

@toby099 All modern day heavyweight lift weights and I would say it's impossible for a man to be as naturally huge as Liston without lifting weights - are bodies aren't designed to be that big.
-
heavyweights are just naturally muscular, none of them would really lift weights
-
Thanks. I've always looked for a Liston interview.
Great video, didn't know the mule thing either, thanks for that. Do you mind if I embed this on boxingscene. so others can see?

@TheTartanSoldier No go ahead, BTW you should do an Archie Moore tribute next, I know you like the old school and no one defines it better than the Ol' Mongoose.
