Saving A River
Saving A River is an exploration into the unseen threat of the Savannah River. On the surface there seems to be no pollution problem. Point sources such as industrial and private waste are controlled under strict regulations. Despite this, years of scientific study show that the Savannah River is headed towards calamity. With an economy dependent on tourism and seafood, Eutrophication will devastate these river-based industries if it goes unchecked. Saving A River shows that this is not only a growing problem, but that it is preventable as well. If Savannah takes control now, it has the opportunity to be the first to have ever stopped Eutrophication before it was too late.
Saving a River is a student documentary that has won several awards to include the Silver Ocean Award at the Gray's Reef Ocean Film Festival, honorable mention award at the Blue Ocean Film Festival, and was screened at the EcoFocus Film Festival in Athens, Georgia.
