Presentation of the November 6-7, 2009 H. A. A. G. (Houston Area Arcade Group) gaming expo, having video, billiard, home and pinball games from the 1930s (!) through the present, although most games are from the classic 1980s era.

Sorry for the not so great audio quality; the digital camera doesn't have sound, and with the loud music and the volume on a lot of the games being low, I wasn't able to record much. Aside from Frogger the sounds aren't going to synch with the pictures either (although Centipede did briefly in that one video clip by total coincidence, which I didn't even realize at first!).

There will be a few additional pictures not seen here and a full write-up of the event at the Atari Times website at some point; I'll update the description here with it's link once it's up!

And finally, the person with Boba Fett is ElectricKid62:

  • Yeah, I liked playing this on easy or normal, where the enemies don't re-appear like they do in Hard mode.. But when you stockpile on ammo so much it's only a matter of *HOW* to fight... Where to position yourself and such so that you can pull off enough shots to KO the monster, then continue with the rest..

What's comical to do in this game, is just simply walk past the monsters while in the pitch black dark, but be careful not to bump into them of course...

  • Ouch, that game sounds hard; good luck with it, I know the (addictive) feeling all too much!

  • It's not a problem, I've been busy stressing myself out playing Silent Hill 1 on hard mode in an attempt to unlock more of the secrets, (not to mention get the intro FMV to show Cybil rather than Harry's dead wife.)

That game is hard as fuck, any enemy you kill will respawn in the *SAME* location it was when you re-enter that room, so I spent all my time running instead of combat, since it was pointless that way.

I loved how hard Crystal Castles got the farther you advance in the stages.

  • Yeah, that was a surprise, as I had never seen the tabletop version of that game...one of many. There was a miniature Tempest too, unless that was a custom job, complete with sticker and all, I don't know.

I hadn't forgotten about your PM and comment on your last video either, just gearing up for my written report on this, getting caught up with friend invites and other videos, etc...being pulled in many directions at once!

  • FUCK YEAH! Crystal Castles.. That game was my favorite!

  • Thanks, yeah, I'm just glad (and lucky, I think) for the video portion of it to come out so well! Looks like YouTube has fixed up the compression problem (well, *mostly*, the Lord of the Rings pinball photo is a tiny bit blurry, but oh well).
