  • I also had the same problem. I watched another video where someone used a chemical to keep it a creamy based. One of those weird, hard to pronounce words. Since we are using all natural ingredients, it may not come out that way, that's just my opinion. But if anyone knows another way to keep it creamy, let me know. I'm tired of whipping...Lol

  • @blessedbyfour I've used more coconut oil and that seems to keep it more creamy. I'm also going to be using avocado butter because I heard it keeps it fluffy too. Be very leery of "natural" ingredients you can't pronounce. Since I started selling the mixes, I began mixing them 3-4 hours! Yes, hours and they stay pretty fluffy.

  • i actually use the same recipe but i whip it for an hour and it stays the same. sometimes its grainy though!

  • @sweeteababy0427 If it's grainy you may be overheating the shea butter. Shea is so tricky sometimes. I now use a double broiler instead of the microwave. Enjoy!

  • i heard that to keep the whipped consistency, you literally have to whip for hours.

  • @curlyxPOP So true! I now whip for a minimum of 2 hours. I have learned so much!

  • @blessedbyfour hey:), did u find any other way to keep it creamy and fluffy?!

    thx

  • From what I understand adding more oil keeps the whipped consistency. Just a suggestion.

  • it's not creamy anymore because the shea butter is supper thick, and when it drys it goes back to its natual state.

  • I make my mix once a month......it usually lasts that long for my daughter and I. Mine stays soft and smooth because I don't melt the shea butter. I soften it using the double boiler method......I am not a fan of microwaves. I completely melt the coconut oil though. Whip for ten minutes and voila!

  • I don't whip for hours. I don't even have a mixer. I just use one 1/2 cup of coconut oil and 1/2 cup of shea butter and about 2 table spoons of sweet almond oil. I leave the shea butter at room temp and mix in the coconut oil in liquid form but not hot. I mix with a spoon for a few minutes and it stays nice and whipped.

  • thanks. I just would like to give tips when you mix.

Try not to use microwave as it got violate ray harmful to us.

Suggestion: put the amount of shea butter you wish to use in a pot with hot water, and let it melt.More gentle and it does not take the properties of this wonderful product. To make sure the cream does not become as hard as it was after a week. Mix the shea butter alone for 40min before adding the other mixes. And, keep your cream in the fridge after use. Hope it helps.:-)

  • i never seem to have a problem with keeping my shea mix smooth, i dont do too much whipping but i think the only thing is that instead of adding almost equal parts of shea and cocoa butter to equal parts of oil and melting it, try letting the shea and cocoa butter just soften but not melt and add the less oil

  • Yep.....whipping for hours is the key. And even then, sometimes it still gets a little harder. I've done it for many years myself and have not once been able to get it to stay "whipped" for the entire time I had it before using it all. But......if the only way to get it to stay whipped forever and ever......is to add a chemical....then NO thank you! I will keep my hardened body butter before I put whipped chemicals on! Thanks for the great video!

  • I tried to post the link but YT wouldn't let me.

  • Hi Sparkwisdom. Great video and learning tips in comments. Just fyi as as didn't know this at first either: real African shea butter is ivory in color not yellow. The yellow one is actually African butter from a different tree; similar properties but not quite the same. See DuchessGabrielle's vids for more info.

    Be blessed! ;-)
