Nowhere near the greatness of the "proto-shred master", but gave it a try anyway. enjoy.

  • NOOB!

  • @SD334x4 Obviously, you don't play guitar.

Just because it isnT' like the original doesn't mean it sucks

  • Your going well, but listen on better shows very well the attitude of Alvin read while running, watch your fingers and try to move the pick as he does. That song is a genuine classic to start on guitar shred. Old song but technically wonderful.

  • @noellitusrockius

Actually I"m starting to not care so much what people have to say on youtube. People who've commented and claimed they have musical knowledge have yet to prove it. If you don't mind telling me specifically, and I mean really what I'm doing wrong, what should be improved, then yeah, I might take it into consideration.

Thank you nonetheless for your courtesy and politeness.

  • @noellitusrockius Well that's for sure, he was faster and more aggressive than J H, in my opinion, but I am not trying to play exactly like he does, I am just having fun.

  • awesome, bu arent u too young? jk

  • @levijones79 too young?... for what? I bought that guitar when I was working on contract for the Governement back in 2000... so yeah, I just look young. what can you do.

  • @QuiltedPine: There are quite a few "improvised" (as you put it) parts, 0:12 being the first and most obvious as it sounded a little less alvin lee and a little more gary rossington.

I won't say the playing was bad, but this is one of those that I would never have the balls to play any way other than note-for-note. I'm not even a fan of "shred" guitar but while this may have been like the genesis of shred, it's just not the same. Either way, good playing, bad cover.

  • @QuiltedPine Sure, Alvin was faster and more aggressive than jimy. Each of these great players have something special and unique to offer in its style.

In my opinion, Hendrix was extremely creative for its time. Alvin Lee was more focused on rock and roll and traditional blues without leaving much of the line. Hendrix gave new possibilities to the electric guitar

You're absolutely right, music is for fun.

  • Do not feel sorry for the comment, I have almost 35 years playing guitar, I fell in love with the guitar after watching and listening to Alvin Lee and Hendrix at Woodstock. In fact this song was the first to try to play even though my friend told me that this song was for intermediate and advanced guitarists.

  • That song should be played as is, otherwise it is better not to, but still so little by little you will do

Sorry but you must listen better, the fingering is very important and give way to the pick, for now just called bullshit that goes home

  • you do a great song & guitarist justice. well done!
