Fender invented the Electric Bass in 1951 in response to requests from musicians for a louder, easier-to-handle bass. This new instrument was named the Precision Bass. Unlike its predecessor the acoustic stand-up bass, the P-Bass had frets, which allowed bassists to play with "precision." Needless to say, a "new playing sensation" was born and the sound of popular music changed forever. The American Vintage '57 and '62 Precision Basses pay tribute to the originals with accurate detailing from their respective vintages.
In the half-century since its introduction in 1951, the Precision Bass guitar has dramatically influenced the way we play and hear music and has affected almost every musical genre. Our American Vintage 57 Precision Bass pays tribute to this landmark instrument with accurate details-including the electronics and hardware-and features including an alder or ash body, split single-coil pickups with raised pole pieces for the A string, vintage tuning machines and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

How is this compared to the 2010 American Deluxe P Bass ? I have been long time in love with this bass and I am considering a change
calinyoz 1 month ago
@calinyoz It's way different, It has passive pickups instead of active pickups which makes it have a way more vintage classic P-bass tone. The feel is different as well the fret size is different the radius I believe is different. Also the neck is high gloss which makes it feel a little different. Both are very cool basses and have the same build quality it's just a personal preference.

This sounds drastically different from the Active Deluxe P Bass, is that due primarily to the different pickups, difference between being active/passive, or a combination of the two? I really love the tone of this bass compared to the Active Deluxe, but I wanted to know how many factors were being changed.
AparoidX 4 months ago
@AparoidX Yes there is a big difference is Active / Passive pickups that would be the biggest difference. We have the 57 P-Bass in stock $1397.49 with hard case. Any other questions let me know. Thanks, nstuffmusic.
