For three years, the SEIU ran a vicious campaign against Bego and his employees. Their goal was to use every tactic imaginable to shame Bego in the press, on the streets, and even in his own neighborhood to get him to concede his employees ability to have a secret ballot election. They tried to run him out of business with a wide array of tactics:

Paying the homeless to pretend to be exploited workers after organizers couldnt find enough of Begos actual employees to picket;
Filing a series of patently false charges of worker safety violations and unfair labor practices;
Getting children to hand out union boss propaganda while they trick-or-treat on Halloween.
