Reminded my of the songs Gene Pittney recorded with George Jones. In thoses days, there was a real line between country pop. So it took something real special for a pop singer to make it with a country hit. Most did not even try. Pittney, Elvis, Orbison, and Robbins were among the few that could command respect in both markets. I thought I had heard all of Bobby Vee's records, but had never heard his version of this country classic. Great!
A big hit for George Jones, under the title, "Just A Girl I Used To Know." A classic written by "Cowboy" Jack Clement. Also a good hit for Porter & Dolly (Just Someone I Used To Know). Ray Price, Charley Pride and Emmylou Harris each recorded this too.

I think that this was a fairly big hit for Porter Waggoner and Dolly Parton, calling it "Just Someone I Used to Know."
