Hookah Health Dangers

The rising allure and danger of the bubbling water pipes known as hookahs or shishas has prompted the American Lung Association to identify hookah smoking as a major health risk. There is a myth that the water filter makes hookah smoke safer than cigarettes, however, hookah smoke still contains harmful components such as carbon monoxide, tar, nicotine, and heavy metals.

hookah not bad... its not burned its baked, the smoke is filtered through water, cigarettes contain over 600 chemicals shisha does not, there is ZERO tar in my shisha, that is because its baked not charred, the only thing in shisha is tobacco, nicotine, honey or molasses and glycerin to make thick smoke... you can also get nicotine free shisha

There is no smoke for the water to filter. The purpose of the water is to cool the vaporized glycerin and flavoring. Test for yourself. Take a few inhaled drags of hookah vapor and blow them through a napkin. Then have one of your cigarette smoking friends repeat the test with a cigarette. You'll only see obvious tar from the exhaled cigarette smoke. These people have an agenda and are therefore the last ones to be listened to. They've made themselves irrelevant IMHO.

you do understand that it is water vapor as the top comment stated. there is .05 nicotine per 250g of tobacco. the coals can be bought naturally, such as coco nara which are made from coconuts.
