Illinois Terminal Railroad 101 is a 1917 product of American Car for use in St. Louis suburban service. It's in preservation at the Illinois Railway Museum and it runs on special occasions, such as the seventieth anniversary of the Central Electric Railfans' Association.
Here the motorman works his way out of the East Union yard complex and onto the first stretch of main line the museum put into operation. The car has a railroad-style communication whistle rather than the traditional bell.
Is that the Birney?

@hgba1c No, the 101 is a center-door, four axle interurban. I think the Illinois Terminal people call it an Alton car.

@trainmaster500 You're welcome. The car only comes out for special occasions. It's a bit slow loading for a busy day at the museum, and one of the doors needs work.
