  • Glad for your comment, I think we did news better then, too

  • Yes I am, Hawaiian! Back in news.

  • Jon McClintock, you were always one of the best doing news in that part of the Alleghenies and looking at this report I think it could hold up against anything I see on TV today.

  • @Glentrasna - thank you for your remarks. I have to agree that the nature of local news coverage has changed - i almost exclusively worked with film - but somehow or another we got it on the air fast, even though it had to be "developed"

  • I should remember you - but I can't tell from the screen name on here.

  • savammy - I'm still in news nearby, but not on TV.

  • I was born n raised in Johnstown, but not born till 79. I was told all about this flood though, and learned about it. My dad still has vivid memories about this flood. He wasn't affected directly, but still has thoughts about it. Thank you for posting this.

  • Was anyone going to Hiram G. Andrews ctr. when this flood hit?

  • Boy, news in the olden days sounds so much better. They're actually REPORTING the news instead of exchanged pleasurably, and spreading rumors.

  • saw the kkk roaming the streets with shotguns, but didn't see one black person in this whole video. oh 77

  • im from johnstown

  • @ILovestorms I think so, look at the other floods, the 1889 and the 1936 flood were 47 years apart, and the 1936 and 1977 were 41 years apart, today we are like 34 years apart so maybe in the next 6-10 years we may have another, if in fact this is a "cursed city"

  • Johnstown Officers given the green light to shoot and kill.... bahahaha

  • jon mcclintock! hearing your name brought back so many memories. i remember this report like it was yesterday. are you still working in hollidaysburg?
