5.

Advancement was a group of Jazz musicians out of Los Angeles. The two band leaders, bass player Lou Kabok and percussionist Hal Gordon got their start with Gabor Szabo before breaking out on their own in 1969 forming Advancement and releasing this, their first album.

The former mixes Blues and Jazz with more standout vibes work, while the latter is on some Hard-Rock-Psyche tip, making it more to my liking.

  • I think that this is a timeless music. Beautiful

  • My father John DeRose is one of the guitar players on this album. Do you know where I can get a copy of it?

  • @itsmejoed how about from your father? lol

  • Beautiful!!

  • I'm curious about some of this stuff. It crosses over relatively easily into the style of music that I usually listen to (progressive rock and pop).

This one sounds like they also have a Farfisa organ in the mix. It's clearly an organ, but nothing like the Hammond that was so much in use at the time. A brighter, more woodwind-like sound.

  • this makes me dreaming

  • Maybe your father has one?

  • secret of the...
