Great videos, very informative and well produced. I recently upgrded to Sonar X1 Essential which comes with SI Drums. Have ther been any problems with using SI with Step Sequencer? Is Seession Drummer 3 a better product?

Seth, Thank you very much, I had no idea that SD3 was soooo deep, and will keep this bookmarked as a reference tool!! Please keep them coming!

@CakewalkSoftware Seth: these videos are great. but one thing has really got me. You mentioned tha you talked about gain staging, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Watched all 5 master classes, and didn't see it. Can you tell me where it is?
Thanks

Excellent! Thank you so much. This really beats slogging through the manual. This was succinct and helpful, I picked up so many real world tips that just don't translate from the manual as well. Please, more video tutorials for ALL of Sonar some day, it's such a more practical way to learn and learn fast!

Thanks - have followed all 5 parts through in Sonar and learnt a lot - great demo.
-
Great job, Seth. Very relevant and specific.

Superb tutorial! I thought I had a pretty good handle on SD3 'til I watched this series. Also learned a thing or three about Step Sequencer. Excellent job. More, more, more...please.
-
BTW, perfect presentation! Your voice is well suited to these tutorials as they are fast, comprehensive and engaging! xD

Great video series guys! Please keep them coming.
Do you plan to add live bass, guitar and vocal recordings to this series? It would be great to see everything come together in steps and then some strings/synth in the last videos.

Hi Cakewalk team,
thanks very much.
I just bought Rapture from you (which is super), but i learned a lot really good things about EQ, envelope design and sequencing from the videos. Very helpful THX!
All in all great videos, with a great moderator. No wasted time at all.
Good luck to everyone.

Brilliant-this is what sets Sonar apart-awesome videos many thanks
-
thank you that was wonderful I listen to it twice and plan to do it again
-
Awesome series! Very helpful! - Thanks!
-
@javadude54 the techniques being used in the video can be applied to any kind of plugin with similar functions though,
i don't even use sonar but i watched it to learn something about mixing drums instead of how to use the specific sonar tools

another great video
-
great tutorial....thank you..!
I like these videos. I have a question though. Can you create different patterns and chain them together to make an entire track with different patterns within that track?

@donLtv07 Absolutely you can :-) Check out Part 3 where I layer different Step Sequencer patterns. You can do this with any type of pattern in layers or just arrange different patterns one after another just like a regular MIDI or Audio clip.

More specifically, these videos are for people with Sonar PRODUCER edition since the STUDIO edition has neither Session Drummer 3 nor PX-64 Percussion Strip. As interesting as they are, many Cakewalk videos are useless to me since they ignore the Sonar Studio edition. I'd like to see videos that focus on what Studio Edition can do with the tools included with THAT version.

@javadude54 Thanks for watching the video and posting your reply! While SONAR Studio does't ship with Session Drummer 3 or PX-64, it does have Step Sequencer 2.0, Track Layers, all the routing and bussing capabilities of Producer, the same Synth Rack, and Session Drummer 2 (or you can use any soft synth with the Step Sequencer as mentioned in the video). I understand you request for wanting Studio specific videos, but you really can apply the fundamentals of all of our videos to SONAR Studio. :)
