Spiralshaped musical keyboard

This is my idea of a logical layout for the notes in a musical instrument. All the octaves are in the same direction from the center. There is a pitchcontrol which is controlled by turning the board round its center. It is midi controlled. This prototype is using The Doepfer "CTM64 Contact To MIDI Interface".

I think if the shape of the spiral keys were a little different - mostly making the smallest keys a little larger for easier playing technique, that this could be a very interesting instrument.

That's sweet man! I had this same idea but not the expertise to implement it. It'd be neat to see on a multitouch surface like an ipad...

interesting idea. Wouldn't it be easier if all the notes were shaped the same size? I imagine it'd be easier to learn to play it with some skill if it were more consistent.
