My journey to the Blue Sky Drive-In begins on High Street in downtown Wadsworth, Ohio. After making a left hand turn onto Broad Street, I pass the old Strand Movie Theater. The theater closed in the early 1960's and is now occupied by MSL Reality. According to their website, the former theater space is now used as a banquet room and can accommodate up to 160 people. The marquee was restored in 2000. A rather lengthy drive down Broad Street takes me past Wadsworth High School. I finally turn into the Blue Sky Drive-In driveway up to the ticket booth. I enter the theater and circle through the drive-in lot. I finally park my car in the second row in front of the movie screen. This video was taken on May 23rd, 2009. It was my 14th visit to the Blue Sky Drive-In.

I just moved back a few months ago and I haven't gotten a chance to drive up that way yet. Thank for saving me the time :-) This place hasn't changed in 30 years, it's awesome. I totally love being back. Nothing happens here, it's completely wonderful.

Thanks for the ride thru my childhood hometown. Haven't been there in many years! By the way, the Strand was still operational as a movie theater until at least the late 70s. I saw "Sinbad & The Eye of the Tiger" there. My hardcore punk band Zero Defex played there in '83, by which time they'd taken out all the seats and were trying to rent it for events. The Blue Sky went through a brief phase of showing porn films, that I found very bizarre.
