i used to go on this. and when it closed i cried... then moved back to Vancouver and rode a ride witch i was scared of at first.. then i realized its the same ride...

everybody! Corkscrew hasn't gone yet . around the same time as this was built the same rollercoaster was built at flamingo land. The reason you don't know about this is cos alton towers is a huge attraction and flamingo land is a tiny theme park in yorkshire. Its is the same colour same carts and same track. It is the same I have compared the videos bit by bit. Youd better be quick if you luv this ride though because as I sed this ride is pushing on 30 years old and will probs b shut down soon.

well lets face it compared to todays standards of coasters corkscrew is a disgrace, granted it changed the fate of alton towers but were talking 30 years aago when rollercoaster technology was rubbish, alton towers has high standards and a new B&M or Intamin would definetly be way better better than a crappy Vekoma

this was the first rollercoaster ride I ever went on. Must have been back in '86 as I seem to rememeber there being a height/age restriction on this.
Why did they get rid of this ride? Because it was old? I remember it being bumpy and I got knocked around abit...
