A cracker Downwind paddle from Milnerton to Big Bay (surfski race every Wednesday in Cape Town, South Africa) I was filming Lloyd with my action cam on a 4 foot pole attached at the back of my ski. I find this gives the best perspective.

  • Nice video. How long is that paddle with the white blades?

  • its an Epic Mid Wing at 214 length

  • Awesome!

How can you get speeds around 35km/h? My record is in 21,9...

  • We often reach these speeds but it is only for a second or two. Some of the bumps are 5m high so dropping down the face of that is quite fast.

  • wow...that is fast paddling!

thanks for posting...love the helmet cam

  • It's not actually a head cam. The camera is mounted on a 5ft pole on the back of the surfski. This give a much better depth perspective than the head cam.

    RichK

PS We normally reach max speeds around 35km/hr and an ave or just under 16km/hr

  • Is it just me sitting in the office behind my computer tilting my head left to right to try keep you on the wave and steering... I so much want a nice downwind paddle again NOW!!!...

  • Nice clip, the pole realy give you nice perspective and more scope on the true size of each run!
