Not trying to be rude but all these emotions you are going through is guilt from the subconscious mind. You sould have tried harder to keep your marriage together,most women watch so much tv and are programed to think what they see on tv is a normal relationship,when its not ! They also listen to the anti-family courts that wants to the destroy the family unit,thus the system has more control

every other weekend at dads is just one way for mothers and the court to reduce the dad to a visiting uncle in the child life and interfere with child want and time and bond with their father. when it is joint custody they wont feel such a lost because they have equal access and equal time to each parent and that is not the case when it is every other weekend.
