OCCUPY DEAF - Deaf signers need to be heard. Lets get the word out from us deaf people. We need to sign our thoughts clearly and have it caption for the hearing world to see what we want them to see.

  • I'm not a big supporter of the OWS movement, but you are absolutely correct!! I live in North Idaho, and we have lots of different jobs here that would be great for the deaf community, but so many have left, because these companies would rather hire hearing people!! I'm hearing, but I'm studying to work with the deaf community, and I'm constantly annoyed that people don't understand how capable deaf people are! So whether or not there's OWS, there needs to be Occupy Deaf!

  • thank support our occupy wall street.. we hate govermeent, cops, banks etc... tax cheaters...

  • Hello. I interpreted the Declaration for Occupy into ASL. It's not perfect, because I am still learning. However, I thought you should check it out. Perhaps share it with other Deaf in the community.

  • Great vlog - let's get the conversation started, with clear reason and understanding. Joshua has got the ball rolling - let's see more people pick it up and run with it.

  • Well said Joshua... great seeing you vloggin finally!! :) I definitely will keep my eye on this movement. I am with you all the way!

  • Nice video. Interpreters and realtime captioning (speech to text) also please, then many more will see the message (including 1/10 or more in any group who are deaf or have a hearing loss and do not sign). Realtime captioning (CART in the USA) is very do-able now, via streaming services to mobile phones of all there, or projected by a professional with you to a screen set up on one side of the speakers for those who need it.
