This recently restored Jacobsen Mower, driven by Dr. John Henery Cottrell, Ph.D. (Turf Management) is one of the finest turf mowers availible and is currently for sale for $15,000.00 o.b.o.
Do you have any specs on the drive axle? Im rebuilding an F-10 with a home built centered articulated steering and I would like to add another live axle on the rear to make it 4x4. I was told that they may be Ford ton axles but I cant verify. Any info is appreciated.
Here in New Jersey I operated one of those, 5 days a week, for 4 or 5 years. 1981 F-10 model, with Perkins 3.9 engine. What a beast. It could really cut some grass! But the new superintendent on the golf course told us to park it, and he bought a smaller tow-behind rotary unit. Big mistake! The F-10 was eventually given away!
Wow, how old is that? We, at one time, used the Jacobsen pull behing mowers, 7 gang with the steel wheels at first and then changed to hard rubber. That was back in the '80's and also Toro Spartan mowers!! Now we use Toro 4500's. What a difference! Thanks for posting this!
