In apartheid era South Africa, free-spirited Amina's (Sheetal Sheth) life takes a dramatic turn when she falls for Miriam (Lisa Ray), a traditional wife and mother. Their unexpected attraction forces both women to fight the outrage surrounding them.

  • no they are not both lesbians, they had to do what they did for the movie. they are good friends which made it easier for them to act like they act. both their movies are so good! (: such amazing movies.

  • @tmmvds ...Apartheid and racism aren't the same thing. Apartheid was a system of government brought on by racism, but even when Apartheid was abolished, it doesn't mean that the racism wasn't still present among the people

  • @tmmvds just because a country was independent, doesn't mean it still wasn't feeling the rule of Britian. My family grew up in Fiji, and even after Britians were gone, there was so many many issues to resolve with the governments, changing laws. What I mean by Apartheid and racism was that there was physical separation between races, and racism as the feeling of hate towards other races, sure you need racism to uphold an apartheid, but certainly racism exists today.
