  • That's a sweet little Consolidation you have there!

  • She is ex-Army loco use at Fort Eustas VA for training

  • Nice. Shame the 4501 is out of service though.

  • Yes it is a shame the 4501 is out of service, also she's painted black instead of the Southern Green.

  • @tcarr22239 One of the standard freight engines for almost any railroad! A shame it isn't T & P 610, though. I would love to see that engine steam into Brunswick, Ga someday--nothin' better than a big road engine highballing through a grade crossing, whistle blowing, cinders flying, bell ringing, all to the amazement on everybody's face when they saw that train go by! Still, nothin's better than the sight of a coal burning steam engine, no matter how big or small it may be!

  • My brother ran this engine at Fort Eustis for the military. He was an instructor for

     the Army

  • Yes, I think a lot of people realize that Josh Turner is terrible.

  • Incredible point of view!!! I love how you captured the close up of the engine getting on the turntable.

  • does anyone realize that this 2-8-0 locomotive is the one used in the Josh Turner Music video, "Long Black Train"? I think it's sweet.

  • not necisairly out of service it says on web site and wikipedia it is under work to return to service

  • Is that right? She's got nice proportions and balance. Thankfully she's still around.

  • Yes I know. I have seen the 4501 run in both Green and Black. The black it is currently in is great, but I liked the green better, even though it was not prototypical for any Southern freight power that I know of.
