Who Will I Be? A Jonas Sister Story- Chapter Fourteen

As Jared and I walked to class, I noticed that people were staring at us curiously. News spread quickly in this school. No doubt everyone would know about my new boyfriend - the word made me very happy - by lunch. Jared and I would have to be pretty careful outside of school. Photographers could be around every corner, just waiting to snap a picture of us and send it to a magazine. Then my brothers, or even my grandma, would know about Jared and they would make it into a big deal. No, they couldn't find out. Jared and I would be careful.

"See you after class." Jared whispered sweetly after I was in my seat. I watched miserably as he walked to the other side of the room. My euphoric mood was wearing off. How could I survive the next 55 minutes this far away from him? I sighed and placed my head in my hands on the table.

About a minute later, Danny shuffled into the room and sat down beside me in his regular spot.

"Hi Danny." I mumbled without emotion. Danny didn't look at me and he didn't respond.

"Danny?" I asked, raising my head.

He deliberately turned to face away from me. He put his elbow on the table and his head in his hand.

"Fine." I muttered, feeling disappointed. Danny was suddenly being unusually rude.

The final bell rang just as Mr.Keith was rushing in.

"Class..." he panted, " Hi." he didn't look much different from my first day. The man was obviously scatter-brained and disorganized.

Mr. Keith set his half-empty coffee cup on the projector table and began attendance. I glanced at Jared while Mr. Keith went through the list of names. He was glaring at his desk. Don't ask why, but this made me happy. He was obviously just as upset as I was that we had to be apart for an hour.

I straightened up in my seat. Jared liked me! Who cared how long it took him to realize it? Jared liked me as more than a friend!

I dooled "I heart Jared" 's in the margins of my papers all through math class to pass the time until the bell. When it finally rang, I jumped and rushed to Jared's desk before he had a chance to get up.

"Hi there." he said, standing up.

"Hi" I breathed.

"Have fun in gym." he teased.

"Don't I always?" I teased back. Jared wrapped his arm around my shoulder, gave it a small squeeze, and walked out of the room to his next class.

I giggled quietly. Jared hugged me! I qiuckly looked around the room to see if anyone had heard my little out burst. I saw Mr. Keith looking at me from the corner of his eye and smiling, but other than that no one was around.

You would have never guessed that I had gym next period because I practically skipped out of the room I was so happy.
