My chickens are always out - rain, shine - but not snow. Here's what goes on in the coop during a snow storm.

  • what breeds do u have

  • Hello - I have a coop with 77 chickens currently and wanted to let you know that by having your roost (the two bars) up as high as they are it can cause a condition known as bumble foot. the middle pad of your chickens feet will swell and eventually split open, get infected and the bird will die. Any distance more than 16 inches can cause this in heavy birds and 24 inches in lighter birds. I've had to change my entire coop to deal with this, just sharing information! Best of luck!
