Date With The Angels - Santa's Helper - Betty White 1/3

The Angels are Vicki (Betty White) and Gus (Bill Williams) Angel. In this episode, Vicki finds a temporary job for an elderly friend, Mr. Finley, who just isn't feeling needed any longer. Mr. Finley takes the job as a department store Santa but seems to take his role as Santa Claus a little too seriously. He begins giving toys away!

Betty White is great in this show. Fans will see her trademark dazzling white smile throughout the program.

That's Nancy Kulp who played "Jane Hathaway" on The Beverly Hillbillies.

It only LOOKS "live", 'Teflon'- the show was actually filmed before a live audience. Only Betty's 1958 comedy/variety show (which replaced "DATE WITH THE ANGELS") was actually telecast live, preserved on kinescope film [several of those are in collectors' hands].

Hey that's Nancy Kulp as Dolly Cates from the Beverly Hillbillies.

Later, she taught acting and retired to a farm in Connecticut and, later, Palm Springs, where she died in 1991 of cancer.

Season 1, Episode 26: Santa's Helper

Original Air Date—13 December 1957

Vickie tries to find a suitable outlet for Mr. Finley, Sr.'s energy, so she enlists the help of her friend Dolly to get him a job in the local department store as one of Santa's helpers. Her plan backfires when Mr. Finley - as Santa - starts to give out free toys to all the children who meet with him, with the skinflint toy department manager on the hook for the unwitting expenditure.
