Good surgery Doc sab.
I am seeing people are talking abt use of gloves, scalpel handles... they might not ask such question when they have seen field conditions.
I have seen more worse field conditions, where u cant expect a surgical needle, or catgut, forget abt gloves then..
you should know what is the cond'n of indian vet dispen'ry & clinics, the stock of medicines & equipm'ts is always low , you have to manage with it till d arrival of next stock, which usually takes several months.

While evacuating the rumen, contamination of muscles, serosa has already taken place. We practically cant prevent that despite the best precautions. So use of gloves while suturing is of aesthetic value of course, but practically it hardly would serve any purpose. This is strictly for rumenotomy. As far as comment of my friend hudspeed is concerned, i would say that scalpel handle is vital for making a smooth skin incision particularly in buffalos, and i am sorry my friend failed to observe it.

I dont see much point in putting on gloves , exploring rumen, scrubbing and regloving, particularly in rumenotomy operation. It would be foolish to assume that one can maintain full asepsis in this surgery. Thorough scrubbing with antiseptic is sufficient, i think, here. Thanks for the comments, nevertheless.
