Part of a possible series? This is installment one. A brief introductory video.
The purpose of this video was to show that there really are hardly any differences between the experiences of gay and straight students in college dormitories/residence halls.. Hope it helped. I realize it's very gay-man centered.

well i had that dorm expierience myself , and i was afraid of the awlwardness of us being there together, so i never said anything and i kind of had a crush on him..little did i know he was gay as well and liked me and he told me like four weeks after living together, and to make a long story short we`ve been going out for 2 years now,so thanks for the advise man!! My roommate's gay. I knew right away that she was gay and I have no issue with it at all. I still sleep naked when the room gets too hot. IDGAF! I get the usual ignorant comments like aren't you afraid she'll try to rape you in your sleep, or has she ever hit on you? But I just roll my eyes and say I don't think I'm her type. She's a cool person but unfortunately we don't really vibe like that and we live our own lives. Of course, that has nothing to do with her sexual orientation!

If you have a crush on your room mate, I would tell them. If he's straight, he'll tell say, "yo, I don't swing that way bro." and he'll either be really cool about about it and shoot it down, or he'll be so creeped out by it that he'll move. At which point, the problem is solved anyway because he'll have left and you'll have realized you crushed on an asshole who probably leaves his socks all over the place.
