Maui artists build a gigantic anatomically correct Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and take it on a rampage through the little north shore town of Paia. The music coming out of the big blinker is none other than Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas) by Cyril Pahunui, a true Hawaiian classic and a cynical Santa scoffs when he finds out that the north pole melted.
It was our Trojan Horse, Lahaina Halloween parade. It spent a week set up at the MAC, and was cared for in back of the Paia Chevron for 7 months. Some nights we would push it out and park it one the street, go party up top. We had a great Paia Christmas parade tossed candy out and were told by the children it was better than Halloween. it ended up at a burning horse party with fire dancers setting it a blaze. Good times thanks Dan Tracy
