ACORN literally has no shame. They are paying handicapped people to show up. There were amputees, and people with literally only torsos sitting in wheel chairs.

  • ACORN and other orgs on the left run ads on Craig's list. They pay their astroturf weekly salaries.

  • Acorn isn't paying them. Taxpayers are paying them. Remember how many Billions were given to Acorn, which has no net income. Their funding is government handouts. Billions of it in hidden earmarks.

  • All I saw were people and all I heard was you crying...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah liberals...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • These people in wheelchairs must be faking it since they are liberals. Screw these phony Marxist cripples. Thank you for your service to this country.

  • JR1,

Thank you for serving too. I'm glad you weren't seriously harmed heading into the off-limits areas. One of my guys was killed in Newport News, VA when we were in the shipyards because he went the wrong way (at least that what I wrote in the report). Stateside deaths are more haunting than battlefield casualties.

  • How did you do 4 yrs with the Army w/o restraint training? I was USAF enlisted special weapons in '76 and they drilled it into us quarterly as part of our tactical neutralization training. When I got my degree and took a USN commission in '88 they did go more into the psych side but the basics were the same.

I did have a cousin call me a baby-killer because I worked on special weapons then tossed a beer on me. I did knock him on his ass: 1) It was a family reunion & 2) Wasting good beer.

  • Gator,

Thank you for your service. I left the Army after 4 years as an infantryman. Maybe you were an officer. I was an EM, and I don't recall any such training beyond the rudimentary on military bearing. In fact, the quickest way to get an EM to go to the seedy part of town was to declare it off limits. I've seen more than my share of bar room brawls.

I served during the post Vietnam years. I wore my uniform a few times off post. I got a lot of hard stares, but no explicit disrespect.

  • JR1,

Sgt Banks may be a bit over the top, but if you dismiss historically documented facts just because you think Soldiers would have "went off" on the protesters - you are more delusional than he.

Servicemember are taught restraint and to defend Americans - even when they treat them like craq. Could you imagine the chaos if combat-trained Vets just did what they pleased? SgtBanks is merely venting - if he were serious he wouldn't be saying a thing (no trail left behind).

    And yes 22 yrs.

  • "y'all from the South? I don't think you're in a position to objectively decide who is and is not a racist."

Excellent way to prove your prejudice and my point there, JR1.

For all you know I could be a biologist who has moved to FL from MA due to the excessive taxes. In fact, I found more racism coming from Progressives.

Dems from the South fought against civil rights NOT Repubs. You clowns keep thinking that minorities are somehow less capable than Whites. As an Other - I say Bull.

  • Whiskey Tango Foxtrot - usage of the military phonetic alphabet betrays you were either career military, or you have an eccentric affinity for your service years. Regardless, Sgt Banks is an extremist who has no business in our armed services, & your defense of him speaks volumes.

Mind your own business. Don't believe a service man can take care of himself? I laugh at those who talk of protestors "spitting on our troops". No one I knew in the military would put up with such disrespect.

  • Thanks for your opinion.

Gator - y'all from the South? I don't think you're in a position to objectively decide who is and is not a racist.

As of the election last fall, objective polls stated that 71% of Americans were for SOME TYPE OF healthcare reform.

Now, those of your political orientation have successfully re-directed the debate away from the effectiveness of our system and those of the rest of the world, to "shouting" points. Congratulations. Whatever it takes, right?

  • "Your not racist bigots for having an opinion. You're racist/bigots because you are of the way you talk about this country. Big difference. Hmmmm".

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!! Now just because we have a mixed race President having an opinion about the Country makes one a racist/bigot? Boy, you Progressives have gone round the bend.

BTW my initial comment was to JustRelaxing1 and I'm not buying your redefinition for a minute. What Double-speak nonsense.
