Christine O'Donnell, Republican candidate for US Senate in Delaware, made a serious gaffe during her debate with Democratic candidate Chris Coons regarding the 'Separation of Church and State'. As a tea party candidate her behavior is unsurprising, but as a self-avowed constitutional expert she comes across looking like a fool.

"The constitutional principle of separation of church and state has given Americans more religious freedom than any people in world history. Around the globe, those suffering under the heavy heel of government-sponsored religious oppression look to America's church-state model with longing. The "wall of separation between church and state" is America's bulwark of true religious liberty."

It doesn't really matter what you think it means, or what I think it means. I depends on what the Supreme Court thinks.

Dear Fishqueen1972,
Thanks.
I think that the first sixteen words of the first amendment mean, The United States' legislature may not legislate to prefer or favour a denomination (or sect or society) of Christianity, [more than any other Christian sect] nor may the congress make any law to stop the unrestricted or unlimited practise of the God ordained way of his Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
That is based on, establishment, meaning, denomination, religion, meaning, Christianity, etc.

@theocrat2 Dear Moron Cunt,
The First Amendment reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
I looked up article 52 of the 1977 Soviet Constitution and it has to deal with "Freedom of Expression", but The government then had the power to ban meetings by religious groups, and violations of the laws limiting the right to freedom of religious expression were severely punished under the republics' criminal codes.
