Thanks very much Deborah. I took your advice about reading a bit slower, but I didn't feel it worked quite as well as others I've read at UKAlive. I think some of the "layering" in this one is lost when you haven't got the words in front of you and the time to think about them. A comedy story with a good punch in the last line probably works best of all.
