Red Bull Racing F1 Donuts in Downtown Austin

David Coulthard pilots a Red Bull F1 car on a public street in Austin during a "closed set" filming of a promotional video. Pay attention during the donuts and you will see flames within the tire smoke.

There are groups of people huddled on each side but there aren't really that many people overall. That's kind of sad and I guess it kind of validates the notion that Americans really don't care about Formula 1. I remember seeing a RBR demo somewhere in Asia (I think China or Singapore) and the entire road was lined up with hundreds of people. What is it with the Americans not liking F1? I would've loved to see the demo if they came to NYC.

@PaintedW0LF This was a "closed-set" event, technically the public was not supposed to be there, however, those of us who knew it was happening and a few early morning passers-by were allowed to watch. Most videos you see like this were public events that were promoted to generate crowds.

I think that the flames are coming from the exhaust. Which isn't that uncommon for race cars.
